The WWE Championship is a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship in WWE, currently defended on the SmackDown brand. It was the first world title established in WWE, at the time known as the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), having been introduced in 1963 as the WWWF World Heavyweight Championship.
As of September 30, 2024, among the three current brands, 20 wrestlers officially hold championships (including one double champion). This list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of title victory.
WWE currently has a total of 16 championships and titles in place on its three brands – RAW, Smackdown, and NXT. Each brand has a main World championship, a women’s championship, a secondary men’s title, and a tag team championship. NXT has added another secondary title in the Heritage Cup.
