When I turned on my PS3 without hard drive, it shows a message like " hard drive is missing". No updates are going on that time. As you said, I inserted the hard drive without turning off the PS3, but nothing had happened. After sometime, I restarted my ps3 without removing the hard drive. Soon, the update started and stopped at 61%

Also, developer Joonie has brought back the webkit exploit from 4.82 to 4.91 with the official HFW release (HFW = OFW with old webkit injected).

Download the file HERE. Take a FAT32 Formatted USB drive and put the "PS3" folder in the root of the USB Drive. . Go to your Playstation 3 system and plug in your USB drive in the most outer right USB port. Navigate to System update under settings & click X. Choose for Update via Storage Media.
Make a folder named "PS3" in the root of the USB device. Under the "PS3" folder, make a folder named "UPDATE". Place the PUP file under "UPDATE" and name it "PS3UPDAT.PUP". EVERYTHING MUST BE CAPITALIZED! Plug the USB device into the right-hand USB slot (the one closest to the disc drive).
