  2. Crazyhouse/Bughouse openings - Chess Stack Exchange

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/2217

    22. Are there any known or "standard" openings in bughouse or crazyhouse chess? Obviously, as soon as pieces start coming off the board things get less predictable, so this question is less about the existence of opening lines as it is about moves which are consistently seen to be good; e.g. White playing e4 to open development lines, or Black ...

  3. List of Crazyhouse engines - Chess Stack Exchange

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/16303

Initial list, to complete: Sunsetter. Stockfish (a well known engine, recently implemented for crazyhouse, seems to be the strongest for this variant in this thread, is the default used in lichess for crazyhouse, important news: has beaten jann lee consistently in informal match in this playlist) Sjeng. Tjchess. Immortal.

  4. software - Analysing Crazyhouse Games - Chess Stack Exchange

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/20111/analysing-crazyhouse-games

For my normal chess games, I download my chess games in PGN format. Then open them up in chessbase 13 and from within chessbase load up the UCI-compatible stockfish engine to analyse the games. Ideally, I would like to store my crazyhouse games in chessbase too and call up an engine supporting crazyhouse. But for some reason, chessbase doesn't ...

  5. Crazyhouse Chess: Playing with a real board and overall...

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/22654/crazyhouse-chess-playing-with-a-real...

Played a decent amount of bughouse but only started with crazyhouse a month or less ago. Although on the surface very similar games, I would say they are fundamentally different because there is no partner and so crazyhouse is "deterministic."

  6. strategy - Is there a sequence to force a draw in crazyhouse? -...

    chess.stackexchange.com/.../is-there-a-sequence-to-force-a-draw-in-crazyhouse

All this to say, it's inconceivable that any human player of Crazyhouse could be anywhere near the game's theoretical skillcap. The best humans get clobbered by the best engines pretty much 100% of the time, like in chess. So much for a simple 9-move way to force a draw. Now, there is also some evidence that Crazyhouse is a theoretical win for ...

  7. chess variants - Playing Crazyhouse OTB - Chess Stack Exchange

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/15417/playing-crazyhouse-otb

    4. I was playing Crazyhouse online on Lichess and I wondered how to play OTB, namely how to change the color of a captured piece. I came up with 2 methods. Exchange the captured piece for another of a separate chess set, picking the opposite color. Pieces are 2d cards, with the Black version of the piece on one side and White on the other.] 3.

  8. What is the maximum number of moves in a position of Crazyhouse?

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/39920/what-is-the-maximum-number-of-moves-in...

    4. We know that the maximum number of moves for a given colour in a legal position of standard chess (or at least record so far) is 218. What is the record we can come up with for Crazyhouse? Note that moves can be: moves in standard chess. piece drops of a piece onto any empty square, or a pawn onto any empty square except on the 1st or 8th rank.

  9. What is the best way to improve Crazyhouse or Bughouse skills?

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/19007/what-is-the-best-way-to-improve...

    3. Since there isn't much material out there to study, the best way is to play with better players. Of course, studying tactic problems is great for chess and the variants. FICS (free internet chess server) is probably where the best Siamese (bughouse) players are. It helps if you have some opening systems worked out (since in Siamese being ...

  10. Are there any bughouse chess engines? - Chess Stack Exchange

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/2590/are-there-any-bughouse-chess-engines

    2. The main reason that bughouse engines are fewer and weaker than normal engines is simply because fewer people play bughouse than normal chess. This means less interest in building an engine for it, because in principle bughouse should be perfect for engines seeing that it is so immensely more tactical than normal chess. – Halvard.

  11. analysis - The best move in this Crazyhouse ... - Chess Stack...

    chess.stackexchange.com/questions/32672/the-best-move-in-this-crazyhouse...

    1. I just played my first few games of Crazyhouse, and I really don't understand it. At one point I had this position. Black has no extra pieces, while I (White) have an extra pawn. Stockfish 10+ on Lichess (depth 18), says I have an immense advantage of +11.2, it and recommends Nxc4, but I have no idea what general strategy is behind this move.
