I installed a 40/45Amp GenerLink with built-in surge protection (an older model) and it works fine with a 6000/7500Watt generator and provides for the future upgrade to a 10800/12000Watt unit if I decide to do so. It came with a 60' 8-gauge cable which resides on a wall mount hose reel next to the ...

Generlink Transfer Switch: I choose this option, because quite frankly, it’s the easiest install. For those not familiar, the Generlink is a combo power inlet/transfer switch that goes directly between the house panel and meter. It is not the cheapest transfer switch, far from it. Mine cost $800.00 from Home Depot.

Generator Connection to home - Generlink vs Transfer Switch. Hey everyone, new to the forum. Recently became interested in finding a way to connect power to my home from a generator. I have a tri fuel Fireman I bought from Costco. I looked first at an interlock switch, but I don't think that will work since the master switch is on a panel ...

  5. Bought 30A generlink, worried generator is too big.

    www.powerequipmentforum.com/threads/bought-30a-generlink...

The 30amp model is for use with generators rated at “less then 8500 running watts”. Your generator is rated at 9000 but ratings on chinese generators are usually inflated a bit, and voltage sag at the “full rating” tends to be substantial. I’ve seen as low as 105 at rated wattage. The generlink has overload sensing and will disconnect ...

    www.powerequipmentforum.com/threads/generac-gp7500e-and...

The generlink did not recognize power from the GP7500e. I know this because the blue status link on the Generlink is not illuminated I have tested continuity on the 30 amp cable. My issue then is either my Generlink is defective or there is no output from the GP7500e's 30 amp connector. The generator works well for the 3 prong outputs.

generlink and interlock breaker panel manual interlock is the old school way of dealing with a gen inlet if done right as safe. and you select the inlet breaker size to match your system. generlink is at the meter socket and inline with the meter with no extra protection.

  9. Is it safe to use a surge protector on a portable generator?

    www.powerequipmentforum.com/threads/is-it-safe-to-use-a...

Absolutely safe to use a surge protector, if everything is properly wired and grounded to code. Your portable generator SHOULD ALWAYS be properly grounded as either a standalone system with a ground rod or a separately derived system that utilizes the building ground. I have a 45Amp GenerLink with 100KA surge protection built in to connect my ...

Duromax inverter generators and a few other select models will have a bonded neutral please see product specifications for generator model. The XP13000EH manual says: Neutral System = Floating on Page 68. As a double check, the GenerLink Compatible Generator Guide lists it as Floating as well.

  11. Westinghouse W9500 THD Concerns | Power Equipment Forum

    www.powerequipmentforum.com/threads/westinghouse-w9500-thd...

Seems like the best generator for my use will likely be the Westinghouse W9500, and it gets wonderful reviews everywhere, etc. However, the THD rating is <23% or somewhere around there, which is really bad. Considering almost literally everything I run will have electronics in it (Fridge, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washer/Dryer, VFD pool pump ...
