As not an ASTER user, no external software or modifications to Steam are required for this method. Simply create a 'multisteam.bat' file (or choose any other name) with the following code: @echo off. set VPROJECT=steammulti. start "Steam1" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -master_ipc_name_override steam1.

They have a guide on setting up Minecraft for your scenario as well, indicating a requirement for a custom launcher, located here: https ...

  5. Some applications does not allow multiple instance, so I figure I will use a virtual machine or something along that line to achieve my goal. (To be specific, the application I want to run is a IM application and does not allow more than one instance, and if possible, I also would like to run a second instance of a game)

  6. 1. Lock files, named pipes and synchronisation events are some of the common ways applications use to check they're the only running instance. To work around lock files you'd either have to virtualise the file system, hook into it or do a carefully timed delete (and that may not work if it locks the file open too).

  7. How to block this kind of checks or run my secondary instance in stealth? Edit: the application I am interested is G-suite file stream. I have two G-suite account one with a school and one with a company; I need to switch between these two if I cannot run two file-stream application at the same time.

It is basically a lock on a thread. To make it simple, a mutex is a locked door to a thread, and only one process at a time can open the door. Once a thread opens the door they lock it. Sandboxie works because of how it treats every process, it reproduces every Win32 call, and isolates the program. So a call to the Win32 mutex class is ...

But notice that this approach may not work, due to devices or log files or settings being used simultaneously by multiple apps. 1st instance -> run original App.exe file. 2nd instance -> run coppied App_1stCopy.exe file. 3rd instance -> run 2nd coppied App_2ndCopy.exe file.
