It has the tools I personally like for filtering, archiving, etc and it fits my prefered type of reading/writing fic much better. From a philosophy stand point I much prefer an archive created by fans for fans over a website out of to make money off it's users. DragonRand100.
The two most popular fanfiction sites are Fanfiction.net (FFN) and An Archive of Our Own (AO3). Many fanfiction writers crosspost to both sites, while others prefer to post to only one. Archive of our own is horrible. There is a lot of disgusting stuff out there with no proper ratings, You would be reading some fic and suddenly weird unnatural sex. I am never going to visit that site again. Honestly, some of it is just illegal according to me. Like seriously someone should alert JK Rowling of these smut fics.
Luckily, AO3 has been incredible (in my experience) with content theft and clear, deliberate plagiarism. So long as you can show all the proof, PAC is fantastic in regards to dealing with that. Sadly there is nothing you can do as a writer to prevent people from stealing your content and posting it as their own.
