12 isn’t in the picture for me, it’s either 12 pro or keep the XR. For the sake of £100 a year (maybe less if I keep it 3 years) i’d rather the more premium device. Actually, correction to this. The price differential is £150, not £200, between the 12 and 12 pro. No brainer for me, either keep the XR or 12 pro.
It should be a good upgrade from 12 Pro Max. The camera is a great improvement with increased zoom (almost double). 120Hz display will be good. Always on display is another addition. 15 Pro Max will have better battery life. Performance should be better with the new chip along with 8 GB RAM.

If you look at Apple’s AR previews of the phones, the pill-shaped thing appears to be indented ever-so-slightly into the phone, unlike how it looks on the iPad Pro. I upgraded from a 12 Pro Max Dec of 2023 (last year) to a 15 Pro Max. I have been happy with the upgrade and I was going to wait as well. However, I was able get a great deal from Verizon by upgrading to the unlimited+ plan for $10 / month gave me an $830 trade-in value for my 12 Pro Max, so the 15 Pro Max now only costs $10 per month.
