Vacuum seal them. Let it run til 95% of the ait is out of the bag, then hit the manual seal button. This will seal them airtight and keep the juice from being sucked into the machine. If you don't have a vacuum sealer, go buy one. it's a solid investment. i feeze my spawn, fish, and venison with it and it's one of my best invesments ever.

(No heat) Then place another pan on top, metal to meat, metal on both sides of the package draws and dissipates the cold super fast.

I have done both methods and to me the quality comes out about the same (for walleye, <1 year in the freezer.) The difference is the thaw time and mess. The water-frozen fish takes 2+ days to thaw and you need to have something to catch the water as the bag with inevitably leak. My vote goes to the vacuum sealer.

Never needed a saw, one option is a chest freezer, a temp controller and small generator the Honda 2000w or even some of the knock offs are very quite. 1/4 the deer and hang in the chest freezer cool to ~35°, if it gets cool at night you may be able to shut the generator off.

Cut some small pieces of wax paper, large enough to handle a days or half days fishing, and arrange them on a cookie sheet. Using a plastic spoon spread the eggs on to the wax paper and set into the freeze. Once frozen solid, vacuum pack the individual wax paper sheets (date them too), and return them to the freezer.

The way we have always done it is to package any extra filets in ziplock baggies with a little water so they thaw easier, but then we soak and wash them off again in salt water before we batter and fry. If we eat them fresh we just soak them in salt water.

If the rocks get wet and icey its VERY slippery. Those days we just don't fish lol. The Seagull website says the water at Caseville is at 44 degrees today!
