When you download Forge you will get a runnable installer, you can put it anywhere on your system (putting it in .minecraft does not make much sense). The installer will the install Forge.

Any mods you download need to go into that folder. Lastly select the right profile in the launcher ( named something like Forge1.7.10 ) and click play. First you open the version of Minecraft you want to play with, and then close it. next you go to the official forge website and download the version of forge you want.

my head is starting to spin and all I want to know is what combination of mods would give the best shader experience with loads of other mods as well, that's why I'm asking for forge. thanks in advance :D. Generally speaking, Rubidium and Oculus with Rubidium Extras will give you better performance than Optifine, and may provide better ...

  5. What are your "must have" mods : r/Minecraft - Reddit

I know Tinkers Construct and Tetra are popular for adding new/different tools to the game. Optifine is great for just quality of life settings and a fancy zoom feature. You'll need to get Forge mod loader which doesn't add anything to the game exactly, but is necessary to get the mods to run. 1. ThisIsNotMorseCode.

  6. are forge mods compatible with neoforge? : r/feedthebeast -...

    www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/1blhp24/are_forge_mods_compatible_with...

Anything past 1.20.1, do not count on it. It really sounds like 1.20.1 limited support for NeoForge and 1.20.4+ is full on NeoForge. Neoforge tried to maintain compatibility with Forge through 1.20.1. In 1.20.2+ they have made breaking changes so mods will have to specifically support it.

  7. Forge 1.20.1 keeps crashing, even without any mods

    forums.minecraftforge.net/topic/125578-forge-1201-keeps-crashing-even-without...

Hello, I am crashing upon attempting to load Minecraft under the forge launcher. First, I should start with the paste bin. ---DELETED---. This was on the curse forge launcher as I could not find the log for the forge file installer. But I had the same issue on both so this should suffice.

  10. Help me understand why Fabric is better than Forge. : r/fabricmc...

    www.reddit.com/.../sctp5e/help_me_understand_why_fabric_is_better_than_forge

I use fabric for it's ease of load time, better updates, the mod's typically being less "heavy" since forge mods and optifine seem to use more power/cpu/whatever computer stuff to run. I also personally play a very vanilla "Plus" style. 90% of my world is vanilla styled, but I enjoy the quality of life and light additions such as pipes.

  11. Which mods have Forge Energy generators? : r/feedthebeast -...

    www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/vsqalq/which_mods_have_forge_energy...

There's lots and lots of options. If you just want a simple lightweight mod that you don't have to mess around with too much, something like Iron Generators would be good. If you want something a little more interesting, Powah has a variety of energy generation methods to play around with. Or if you want something a little more immersive, I ...
