He said it was military friendly (go figure), almost all credits transferred, and he was able to complete it...even only a class a semester at a time. It hangs on his wall and shows he can follow directions, research a 10 page paper, and have a basic education.

It is "accepted" in the civilian world in the sense that you will check a box, as others have said. Personally, I'd explore the numerous state schools that offer reduced tuition rates for military members. For example, the University of Florida's undergrad tuition rate for residents is around $129/credit hour.

Would reccomend arizona state university for an online degree. AMU individual credits are accepted seldomly, its better to get an associates there and move to a bachelors in a more well-known university. Source: Me i did this. Job interviews think AMU degree is something the military hands out as a “circlejerk” to make themselves look better.

Thoughts on American Military University. I'm looking to get my Master's in Cyber Secuirty. Between FASFA and my tuition assistance from the military, it would practically be free to get it through AMU. They're regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, the same organization that accredit that Ohio State and Northwestern University.

I got my Bachelor's from a well respected military college in a degree path they specialize in. I'm working on a masters from an even more well known university. Sadly, due to many reasons, not all degrees are worth the same, unless your sticking with government service.

I am currently enrolled in University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) for my Masters degree in Information Technology: Telecommunications Management, but their tuition per credit hour is too high ($480 per credit hour) for TA to pay for it all. AMU charges $250 per credit hour for all Masters programs (military rate)
