a platform I use gave members a $30 gift card that I'd like to give away. ideally, I'd like it to go to someone who'll use it for food, but I get that sometimes we need non-food items too. I'm not sure about the other shop options cos options are given based on the zip code, as I think the goal is to get people to discover local shops.

It's garbage, and the company also tricked me into reviewing their app for a "$30 gift card that can be used at thousands of stores" (by masquerading as a research study on Craigslist without mentioning the company name) and didn't tell me that you'd only actually have the option to use it at 2 of those "thousands of stores" based on their dumb algorithm.
For example, companies like Nift will pay e-commerce stores to toss in one of their “$30 gift cards” into outgoing packages. So when you sign up for Nift and redeem your $30 credit… you’ll notice all the things they offer are subscriptions like “Sign up for HelloFresh and get 2 meals free - $30 value!” And HelloFresh then pays Nift ...
Basically OfferUp getting you to go to a knock off Groupon… they want you too spend 150$ to get an extra 100$ in product (spend150$ to receive 250+tax in product) which you have to pay the tax at 250$.. it is at your local places around your area, it’s just a promotion so they can trick companies to pay them 20% or more plus give away 80-100% extra product…just to funnel in cheap traffic ...
I used their customer service chat feature on their website and they confirmed that it was legitimate. Took 30 seconds to (a) make sure I wasn't getting scammed and (b) get a free coffee. Considering parkings reputation I would say its 99.9999% a scam. Not a scam.
