Hey Massad, Im thinking of getting a gen 5 30. I love the 45 auto pistols. Even though I mostly shoot 9mm pistols these days. Im wondering if you have shot a gen 5 30? Or better yet have you got one to call your own. What ammo would you use for personal defense in a 30.5? Thank You.
I have a gen 3 and 4 27 and 33 but have been thinking about getting the Gen 5 23. I used to have a 32 and 23 years ago Gen 3. I have a g39 which is the thicker slide like the Gen 5. But I'm curious about the g23 size guns gen 5. Do they handle that much better gen than a Gen 3 or Gen 4? Is it worth the extra weight?
Bought a gen 5 G34 mos for competition. Trigger is classic Glock sponge take up, bending plastic break. Googling gen 5 triggers I came up with recommendations for about every trigger manufacturer out there. Two seemed to come up more than most, Apex and Zev. Anybody have any experience with gen 5 aftermarket triggers they can recommend? I know it will never match my stoned 1911's or SA ...
However, if you have the Gen 3, then the Gen 4-5 will feel smaller like the G21SF. When GLOCK went to Gen 4 it started with a 0.08”shorter frame (from backstrap to trigger) than the G21 Gen 3. The backstraps add 0.08” and the Gen 4-5 with the medium backstrap is the same size as the G21 Gen 3, with a larger backstrap, the Gen 4-5 would be 0 ...
I'm wanting a Glock G40 MOS, but I'm not sure if/when Glock will ever offer a gen 5 G40 (only glock I own is a G22.5). So my question (s) is 'what is the difference between a gen 4 and a gen 5? I know about the finger groove deletion, and the wider/fatter slide, but what are the other differences? Trigger mechanism? Barrel? The gen 5 only uses one pin in the frame, while the gen 4 has two. Is ...
What has been your experience with G19 Gen 5 reliability ? Previous G19 generations with finger grooves did not fit my hand so either a G19 Gen 3 / 4 would only be of interest with finger grooves removed . The alternative is of course the G19 Gen 5 having no finger grooves being a decent option IF no reliability issues !
The Gen 3 Glocks are a great choice and can often be found used for less than the Gen 5 Glocks. In your situation, it would depend a little on what models are involved. An example would be that if you have a Gen 5 19 and are looking for G26, Gen 5 would offer more parts compatibility. If you’re looking at a different caliber, then the ...

I do not really NEED Gen 5 large frame. My 2.0 10mm is a shooter as well. Although, my favorite LGS has a Gen5 21 trade in, last I checked.
I have a gen 3 Glock 22 and a gen 5. The 22.5 has less recoil, IMO. The 22.5 will not fit in my 17 holster, but it does fit in my 20/21 holster. Shooting a 17.5 then the 22.5 there is subjectively little difference in recoil. IMO the thicker (heavier) slide is what Glock should have done with 40 from the start.
