DD was told by a UIUC admissions rep that UIUC’s CS admission rate was 12%, but that was for incoming freshmen for the Fall 2019 and he was addressing a 100% in-state audience. Purdue’s CS acceptance rate is around 20%, but I believe that is overall and not broken down by IS or OOS. Highly competitive any way you look at it.

The last big year for waitlist admissions was the 2019 class, with 5,755 offered, 3,378 joining, and 1,542 admitted. I recently applied to Purdue’s CS and got rejected but was offered a choice to choose up to 3 new majors at the university. I was just wondering how competitive it was because all my friends got into Purdue (applied to FYE instead of CS) and got in and Purdue honestly was one of my safety schools with a 60% acceptance rate.
