Myth: Shielding will change the tone of the guitar. This is only true if you consider RF noise to be a part of the musical tone of a guitar. I consider RF to be unmusical noise. Totally undesirable. Common error: not doing a neat and thorough job, not grounding the shield properly.
So, for example, if I measure the frets at 0.039 high with the straight edge and feeler gauges, then I use a stack of feeler guages that adds up to 0.045 (0.035 plus a 0.010). Do the first 2 stings, then do 0.035 + 0.013 for a total height of 0.048). I learned this when I was about 15 from an old guitar tech at the music shop I worked at.
2. It has unbalanced speaker emulated 1/4 out which can also be run to the PA or to a computer sound card. 3. It has a 1/4 dry out which is run to your guitar amp (1,2 and 3 can be used simultaneously) 4. It has a signal attenuation level knob which can boost or reduce your incoming signal as needed. 5.
12. Feb 8, 2024. #2. My two most comfortable seated guitars are an SG and a Strandberg, although I play them in different positions. The SG I play normally, but with the Strandberg I play using the cutout on the body to rest the guitar on my knee in a more classical position. The neck on the Strandberg feels much closer to the body than the SG ...
First tune your guitar. Don't bother with intonation yet. Second, use a fret rocker or other suitable strings edges to check all your frets are even. If a fret is to high, the fret rocker will, um, rock, when it's on that fret and spanning the two frets either side of it, just like a see-saw (English English) or teeter-totter (American English).
A guitar will have a noticeably (and problematic) weak response from the high E. That is, that string will be significantly quieter that the other five. This has nothing to do with pickup adjustments or anything obvious. It's only occurred maybe 3 times out of probably 30 guitars but I have yet to hear an explanation that's any more than ...

Oct 19, 2011. #13. Yeah that neer sound can be from the 1st fret if the slot is to deep or wide. A heavier gauge string is one solution. On occasion a new string. If you fret the string at the 3rd fret, the string should not touch the 1st fret. If you pluck and get a ring, all is good.
I'm currently considering an Electric XII type pickup, a Jaguar pickup, a Rickenbacker Toaster pickup and a low output PAF like the Lollar El Rayo. I'd like something clean sounding as the guitar will have an inbuilt octave effect on the EADG to simulate the sound of a 12 string using the standard 6, so I think it will be better to dial in any ...
91. Sep 25, 2023. #8. Apparently, IYV "inherited" some foreign NC machines from famous guitar brand names originating from China, Japan, and Korea, and put their own "spin" for genuine purposes, resulting in excellent electric guitars, with proprietary "Destiny CNC Wound ", reverse-engineered pickups, which are excellent.
