But what's even more surprising is that Demond said he hasn't seen Nathaniel since 1977! 35 years and the year Sanford and Son went off the air! Damn! Redd's next series, 'Sanford', was an attempt by NBC to revive the Fred Sanford character in January, 1980, with new producers and none of the old series regulars except Rollo (Nathaniel Taylor). Fred was still in the junkyard, but now saddled with an obese, live-in good-ol-boy named Cal who has invested in the "junk business".
Following The Hogan Family, Mr. Taylor has appeared in several tv films, on Beverly Hills 90210 as Jack McKay from 1990-1993, and on The Young and Restless as Jed Sanders from 1993-1995, Taylor made his film debut in "Waltz Across Texas," with Anne Archer, Mary Kay Place, and Richard Farnsworth.
