10-04-202102:16 PM. @AlohaInspired. USPS rates went up on Oct 3rd. Priority flat rate boxes and envelopes all went up $0.75. All 1st class commercial and retail went up $0.30. $7.40 WAS the discounted rate, add $0.75 and NOW $8.15 is the discounted rate. The retail rate on the 9"x12" PM flat rate envelope is $8.70.
You should not use the following USPS services when shipping to Australia: First-Class Package International Service, Commercial ePacket, International Priority Airmail Packets, International Surface Air Lift Packets. As an alternative, you can choose Global Postal Shipping as a carrier when you purchase labels on Etsy.

You can tell the buyer to refuse the package when it arrives and it will be return to sender at no charges to you if it is domestic within USA. When the tracking shows the package is being return to sender, you can refund the buyer.

You’re only charged for a return label when the buyer uses it. If the buyer hasn’t used the label yet, you can ask them to not use it. If the buyer already used the label, you can’t cancel or refund it.
10-19-202008:38 PM. My understanding is that you can schedule a pick up through etsy but you are probably better off going through the USPS website. You need to have at least one priority package and the local post office has to have somebody who can do the pick up for you. I usually go to the post office anyways so I rarely schedule pick ups.
Etsy has taken out over $518.36 in shipping adjustments in 2 days. I am shaking as it is now taking this money out of my business bank account. I need to be able to get in touch with someone. The adjustments are the difference of 40 pounds per item on an item that weighs 2 pounds and they are saying it weighs 25-40 pounds... y'all I am shaking ...
Before the latest USPS rate increase, the $9 fee I had in place was adequate (within .50 -1.00 which could be absorbed into the price of the item). The issue is that in certain instances, there seems to be a wild variation in costs, wether depicted in what Etsy calculates for calculated shipping or just in postal fees.
