Never heard that fom First Savings and Blaze credit cards, cards that are similar to Reflex and Surge. If they are willing to waive their AF, without having you beg or give up a first born, that's great. If they are giving out $5K credit limits, that's exceptional, but I've never heard that.
I have that card, and I have not used it at all in the past few months, prior to that a few small charges here and there. That said I find their customer service sucks to deal with, which is one of many reasons I don't bother with it really. My credit score is currently over 700, so I have options I didn't have when I got this card.
I had a Reflex credit card through Celtic Bank that was serviced by Continental Finance. I got into a mess a couple of years ago and let the account default and it charged off. I entered into a payment agreement with them and paid the balance off in full a few months ago. They reported it as paid after charge off.
In the meantime I received approvals for BestBuy Visa $2000, Credit One $750 and $3000/ Capital One Visa $500, Reflex Mastercard $1000, and approvals just continued getting better all the time. To this day, my Express card is still at $100 and I have been declined twice for increased despite raising my score from low 500's to 656 today
