Ok, I have found the solution. First, you need to find the folder where your EU is installed (W:\Program Files\Epic Games) and change the name of UE_5.1 (or whatever version you have) to something other than UE_5.1, you can add UE_5.1_old (doesn’t matter).
i need help downloading the older version as my mac 11.7.3 is the highest OS i can upgrade to and i already made a epic account i downloaded the launcher and all i keep getting offered is the 5.1.1 version which my mac wont install but will download i checked the github and i dont see nothing about the UE4 any where a link would be helpful
It seems that the “(x86)” in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\4.10\Engine\Build\BatchFiles\Rebuild.bat” somehow messes up the command, because the brackets have a special meaning. Note that there are quotation marks around the Rebuild.bat filename, so the spaces in the file name should not be the problem.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Epic Games Launcher, I rebooted before and after, to no avail. someone on reddit suggested opening my NVIDIA control panel and restoring Global Defaults. I did this and was able to at least log in and click on the Unreal tab at the left. It said I needed to install Unreal Engine 5.2.3.
