    Apple Maps is okay, but it's probably best in the long run just to bite the bullet and start practicing with Baidu or Gede Maps. They're just better for China. More integrations with traffic lights, better at telling you where the speed cameras are, better with public transport, etc.

    In China Apple Maps uses data from Gaode Maps, meaning the information will likely be up to date. Google Maps is absolutely useless in China. Gaode 高德 is probably the best map in the world. equivalent of Google Maps in Western countries.
