People are theorizing it’s Cars 4 largely because there’s rumors that Pixar is no longer making Disney+ series because of the platform’s unprofitability, and Cars on the Road likely underperforming given its show runner was laid off at the same time as the director and producer of Lightyear.
The Incredibles and Ratatouille. Cars is the epitome of kids Pixar. But they are perfect films for their audience. Incredibles is mostly a movie about middle-aged angst with enough action and gags to keep kids entertained. Cars are basic morality fables with enough real-world references to make it acceptable to adults.
Yoshi_chuck05. •. Honestly Doc Hudson is the goat! He’s a legend! He helped out McQueen with his drifts and even made him a better person! He even became his crew chief at the end and is like a loving grandpa, figuratively speaking. Reply reply. KingGodzilla_54. •.
Every Pixar movie before Cars felt like it was pushing the envelop a little. They were always breaking new ground in animation or storytelling. Cars was the first one that felt like they were coasting…like they were resting on their laurels. I enjoyed it, but it felt like it was lacking that Pixar secret sauce.
Meaning that the cars at least have a brain, and the engine is more akin to the heart. Meaning consciousness resides in the brain not the engine, this'll be important later . More to back up the claim that cars have internal organs is a deleted scene entitled 'Hiccups', in which McQueen gets hiccups from drinking too fast. Hiccups are caused by ...
Cars 2 (2011): Yeah this was bad. But not just bad by Pixar standards or even by DreamWorks standards. This is bad even by Illumination standards. This is a prime example of why you should never make the comic relief (in this case Mater) the main character. Mater is SO irritating in this movie. He brings this entire movie down.
It was Professor Zündapp from Cars 2, which explains his vanishment. Theory 1 on the unexpected vanishment of Professor Zündapp: He recreated Allinoil™, by altering its reactant (substituting the Electromagnetic pulse for HCF (Hydrofluorocarbons)). As this was prepared in advance, he made time to gently dissect himself and hide the sample ...
Cars was completely predictable from the get go. One thing about Pixar movies is that they are jam packed full of innovated and creative ideas. And they usually have at least one LMAO gag. Every Toy Story movie to date has surprised me and had a few LMAO gags which is a real feat for such a simple concept.
Cars is targeted to a demographic that is outside the normal Pixar audience. There is a lot of contextual humor that focuses on auto racing (NASCAR in particular), Americana, and cars in general. If these things don't interest you, there's a good chance that you won't fully appreciate Cars for what it is.
It’s Cars 2 that’s got the poor general consensus, if anything. The Cars franchise isn’t critically acclaimed, but it has its fans and it’s made an incredible amount of money on merchandising. Personally, I love all three instalments. I think Cars 2 is a lot of fun, but it’s essentially a feature length Mater’s Tall Tale.
