  2. Prime First Read Books- will there ever be a male author again?

    www.reddit.com/r/kindle/comments/nqz3d3/prime_first_read_books_will_there_ever...

Even if for a genre female authors outnumbered males by 10:1, you would think you would see one male author a year. I think a lot of the Amazon first reads, prime reading, and kindleunlimited stuff is targeted at middle aged women. Even on world book day, the majority of the novels offered were romance novels. Right.

But I'm lazy and would like to see them all in one place. Tap on: Books> Store, scroll through the top Banner / Carousel until you see First Reads. You’re welcome. ☺️. I haven't picked up my Kindle Fire (HD 7) in a few weeks and it must have updated in this time, the homescreen and Kindle store look different at….

    1. Reply. Cami_glitter • 3 yr. ago. I found Hannah Moore. She wrote Red is the Color of Pain and Orange is the Color of Shame. I can't say she is a great writer. However, I was heartbroken by the end of Red, and the ending of Orange was stunning. I would call both books messy romance. 2.

I chose it, because none of the others looked remotely interesting. It was kind of fluffy, definitely lightweight, and other than maybe a name-dropped department store or maybe just a high end store (it's set on the East Coast and I'm West Coast, and I'm only assuming high end because the aunt the main character goes to stay with is loaded, as is the main character's family), you'd have little ...

I picked the same one. I don't think I've ever actually read one of the first reads books, but I always look over the selections and claim one. Never know when I might get in the mood to read one of them! I picked up A Friend In The Dark. Mystery/Thriller + Romance = sign me up.

For example, the first book on the Prime Reading list is Beneath a Scarlet Sky. When I click on it, I get to the store page, where I could buy it for $2.53. I mean, maybe it's a lower price than usual, I'm not sure, but it's definitely not free.
