One thing you will notice is that they are really small compared to the other majors. At LAX they operate out of one smallish warehouse that probably had about 100 cars. This was in contrast to the huge parking lots of the major rental car companies at LAX with what seemed like thousands of cars. Personally, I had no issues with them.

edited 2018-Feb-19, 10:42 am AEST. O.P. In the USA there's a site called turo.com which lets you rent exotic/expensive cars that are listed by private individuals. Things like Teslas, Maseratis, and so on. In Australia we don't seem to have anything like this – the closest we have are sites that let you rent ordinary cars like Toyota Yarises.

I chose Thrifty purely because their car rental place is within walking distance from the repairer. What I got from Thrifty was a Kia Rio (I had no choice) that has a top speed of about 115KM/H.

    forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2184782

posted 2013-Nov-20, 7:09 pm AEST. It's not hard to drive in the US. You quickly get used to driving on the wrong side of the road, while sitting on the wrong side of the car. Most rental cars (and most cars in general) are auto, so the need to change gears with the wrong hand is one less thing you need to get used to.

  10. One needs to only look at the quality and efficiency of the motorways in Europe and compare them to those in Australia to know everyting you need to know. Europe: take driving seriously. Work towards keeping good drivers on the road, and designing a functional traffic system. Australia: in it for the revenue.
