The one-story structure was built in 1932 in a vernacular commercial style. [1] [2] The building was historically used as a shoe repair shop and gas station.

From 1996 to 1998, Ohio Stadium was the home venue for the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer prior to the opening of Columbus Crew Stadium in 1999.
