It began airing on BBC One in the UK on 22 December 2019 and concluded two days later on 24 December 2019.
A British television version, with Bransby Williams as Scrooge, was televised in 1950. An adaptation of A Christmas Carol with Ralph Richardson as Scrooge was shown as a 30-minute filmed episode of NBC 's Fireside Theater in 1951. The story was dramatized twice, in 1952 and 1953, on Kraft Television Theatre (NBC).
