The peninsula (south of San Bruno, north of Mountain View) no longer has any gun stores. Reeds, e2 gun vault, bass pro, sportsmans, will be your best bet in the South Bay. Prices are high, availability is limited (308 is generally better). I buy ammo every time i visit Humboldt/del Norte counties if that gives you any indication.
Ammo Purchase Denial. 05-14-2024, 6:25 PM. Today I went into Sportsman's Warehouse to buy 10 boxes of ammo. I have purchased ammo at this same store as recently as 12/29/23 and many other times and have always been approved. Today I got a Denial.

The worst of it from my memory was just after Sandy Hook .Any ammo in stock was almost tripled. .223-.556 basic brass boxer primed reloadable brass 55 grain pre-shooting was around $275 per 1,000 case. Post Sandy Hook $750 per 1,000 exact same ammo . 7.62X39 during that time was non-existent.The stainless model is a nice upgrade .
