Just started my laptop an hour ago and utorrent was gone from my desktop. Gone from my Program Files. Gone from Start > All Programs. forum.utorrent.com/topic/106882-utorrent-is-being-detected-as-a-virus

Posted November 6, 2017. Looking at the URL on the screenshot, you're downloading the current stable. What you need to do is go into the Windows Defender Antivirus settings. Somewhere in there you should be able to create an exception, possibly on some sort of white list, for uTorrent.exe. Once done, uTorrent should download just fine.

joshace. I finally discovered what the cause of Utorrent crashing is... Under OPTIONS / PREFERENCES / ADVANCED / DISK CACHE be sure to UNCHECK the box that says "Override automatic cache size". Utorrent crashes if you override the automatic cache size, even if you pick the maximum of 1800. I would suggest that the developers either eliminate ...

Moving the torented files is trivial, but I don't really want to have to hunt down all those .torrent files again in order to make use of the incomplete files. Is there a way to, say, export the torrent list (and settings maybe?) from the old location and then import it into the new? Or make uT r...

I reinstalled Windows (Vista 32-bit) as well as uTorrent. My computer was working perfectly fine and fast but after installing uTorrent it started being very very slow. It takes about 30-60 seconds to open a web page, about 15 seconds to open "My Computer". I looked in the Task Manager and found out uTorrent uses a lot of memory (2nd after ...

Yeah well that doesn't help. I've done what it says there, click the magnet link, select the file from the list of files inside the torrent, select the location, hit "Ok" and it just starts downloading the file again.

  11. Can't find where torrent files were downloaded to?

    forum.utorrent.com/topic/83170-cant-find-where-torrent-files-were-downloaded-to

That is NOT the case, with no explicit location set, uTorrent will use the default downloads location that the operating system dictates. Have you set the "Save Directory" column visible in the job list so you can see where uTorrent has put the files? Yeah, see, I was used to the downloads going into my default downloads folder.
