It had been published since August 1922 under different names; the current title was established in 1945. Its last issue was published in December 2011, although it continues to be published online. The magazine was free of charge.

The U.S. Army land ordnance clearing advisory effort was known as "Operation Nimbus Moon". [4] US Navy RH-53Ds sweeping the Suez Canal in 1974. At the same time the land operation was concluding, a water clearance operation called "Nimbus Moon" was underway. It continued to run until the end of 1974 and, at a much-reduced rate, into 1975.
