For anyone still in long lines to try to get through to someone at Nelnet, I recently got a call back regarding an issue I had called about a couple weeks ago (after waiting on hold for 2.5 hours), and in the voicemail they left they gave me another number to call and they answered in minutes!
I called them and they didn’t know about my private loans so the rep said reapply for SAVE. Just got back my adjusted amount and it’s $650 on IDR. Nelnet has been more trouble in the last few months than 9 years of Great Lakes. Only shining light is that if I keep the $650 amount, I’ll be paid off in December 2027. 24.

Nelnet Not Processing Payments! Rant/Complaint. I’m so exhausted w/ Nelnet. I made a payment on 10/27, received a confirmation email, they debited the bank account, great. I have auto-debit set up and received an email saying the payment would be pulled on 11/2, great. I receive an email on 11/17 saying my account is past due!

I've called 4 times and after lengthy wait times, been told I'm all good and the correct payment should be shown soon. This all started in early July.

They are not being directly paid interest, but they do generally make more money the longer loans are in "repayment", per borrower. Previously there were contracts for certain servicers that paid out a percent of outstanding balance per borrower.
Sorry you're having that issue, I'm just trying to provide troubleshooting. It's been working for for people who were on Nelnet previously, it's been a complete and utter mess for anyone who was a part of the Great Lakes servicer transfer
Just got off the phone with Nelnet (actually the first time I’ve had a decent experience with a service agent-hurray!). They have a scheduled maintenance happening the evening of Friday March 1 - Saturday the 2nd. All phones and website will be down. Just wanted to spread the word for anyone who needs it.
