On April 5, 2022, the school announced that they were promoting all of their varsity programs to Division I for the 2022–23 academic year.
Stonehill currently sponsors 23 varsity sports. Most recently, the school has added women's swimming and diving and women's ice hockey as varsity sports. Swimming and diving began in 2020–21 and women's ice hockey will begin in 2022–23. The women's ice hockey team will play in the New England Women's Hockey Alliance. [4]

2022–23 Stonehill Skyhawksmen's ice hockey season. The 2022–23 Stonehill Skyhawks men's ice hockey season was the 44th season of play for the program and 1st at the Division I level. The Skyhawks represented Stonehill College and were coached by David Borges in his 9th season.
Borges was named head coach of the program in 2005 and led the team to nine consecutive conference championships. In his time with the Warriors, Borges earned a record of 121–50–8 and was twice chosen to coach at the Massachusetts High School Hockey All-Star Game.
