  2. Do we really need a PS5 Pro? : r/playstation - Reddit

Not really. Most of the time we have to choose between close to 4K and 60fps at a much lower resolution. There are exceptions but a lot of games don't have a very stable 60 fps experience. They use checkboard 4K to recieve stable 60 fps, which standard is between 1200-1800 p instead of 2160 p.

  4. Do we need a PS5 Pro? (And will there be one?) - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/17a0og6/do_we_need_a_ps5_pro_and_will...

Damn I absolutely need a ps5 pro. The current ps5 feels in a lot of games like the old Gen with 30 fps and low fidelity. 4090 owners laugh about this. With a ps5 pro PlayStation could be back with real 60 fps, 4k in high fidelity. Maybe even better than a 4p090 because it could be programmed on point and with less overhead.

  5. Pro sticking with Zen 2 isn't so much a problem compared to the measly upclock. 10% is.. Not very much. PS4 Pro CPU offered a 33% boost over the PS4 CPU. If PS5 Pro offered something similar, even still being on Zen 2, we'd likely see a lot of games that when unlocked could run at around 40FPS to then get closer to 60FPS.

  6. I know upgrading from the base PS4 to Pro and from Pro to PS5 with trade-ins felt like highway robbery. I think I paid $200 total for the two upgrades. If someone plans on getting a PS5 Pro, I’d recommend exploring your options this fall. Kind of sucks to wait a year, pay full price, and lose $100 on your trade-in.

  7. The use case for a PS5 Pro is an increase in image quality, not performance. The majority of games with big performance issues or with 30fps locks are CPU-limited, and PS5 Pro won't change that. What will change is the base, pre-upscale resolution due to the 45% boost to the GPU.

  8. PS5 Pro September release dateā€¦the worst possible time to ... -...

    www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/1d83q3y/ps5_pro_september_release_date...

Most people aren’t in school. And work never ends. “Back to work”. Lmao. November is way more likely than September. September seems to be the most likely date for a showcase when they actually officially announce it. They will then release it just in time for the holidays. gta 5 released on September 17 2013.

  9. Digital Foundry: New PS5 Pro GPU details emerge - Reddit

PS5 Pro is 16TF but splitted up. 13-14TF for Shading(45% PS5 uplift) and 3TF for ML/traversal. Shading the PRO is 20% more than XSX. ML= Comparable between the Pro/X because the XS is seperate.(won't use the 12TF one) PS5 Pro is splitting up the WGP for ML. The Pro is missing Workgrapgh & BCpack cpmpression+etc

  10. Current PS5 owners - if Sony released a PS5 Pro in late 2024 ......

    www.reddit.com/.../zj1bnn/current_ps5_owners_if_sony_released_a_ps5_pro_in

ssk1996. •. The main issue of releasing a PS5 Pro would be pricing. The PS5 is already $500 and with how silicon has not reduced in price in the last couple years they'd have to sell the Pro at 800-900 or even 1000 for it to have a significant improvement over the PS5 (like 60fps in fidelity modes where PS5 gives 30).

  11. What's the PS5 Pro GPU equivalent? : r/pcmasterrace - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1cp71ha/whats_the_ps5_pro_gpu_equivalent

6700 non XT. The claimed RT performance of the PS5 Pro is 2-3 times that of the base PS5 and at times as much as 4 times that of the base model. This makes me think it could be hybrid hardware as RDNA3 doesn't put out four times RT performance of RDNA2. I believe the PS5 Pro GPU is said to be closer to that of a 7800xt but with better RT ...
