It seems to be for online players. Playing Story is like offline and doesn't suffer crashes like online. When my drivers work I dont update them, so when I started RDR2 Stpry yesterday the RockStar launcher updated like first time run. start the game then saw the driver up date required just pressed x to close it and the game continued to load and plays fine.
