Hi, I was trying to use Xfinity Stream app to watch live TV on my desktop computer. Whenever I click on some channels, I get this "Connect to in-home WiFi to watch" message. I am at home, and connected to my home WiFi and sometimes ethernet. I belive my modem registered since I am renting it from Comcast.
Xfinity Stream App won't allow me to watch Live TV. I pay for internet and cable through Xfinity. I downloaded the Xfinity Stream App on my Amazon fire TV, and was able to log in. However, when I click on Live TV through the App, it says I need to connect to wifi. I made sure the TV is connected to wifi, and all of the other apps work.
Someone else in another thread said if you have a Roku, you can download the Xfinity Stream app to your Roku as a workaround to watch live TV. I've been having the problem since yesterday and did that - now I can watch live TV.
i have had this same issue, spent a ton of time on the chat and phone with customer support and nothing doing. they were clueless. uselss company.

I'm having the same issue. When I try to use the Xfinity Stream app on my T.V., I get the following message "This device can only access Xfinity Stream on your in-home Xfinity WiFi." I can get local T.V. on my smart phone and desktop, but not the T.V. I've spent hours on the phone with representatives.
You can access your Xfinity Stream app while you are away from home, however, there are some channels/movies/shows that can only be viewed while connected to your Xfinity in-home network (your first home). You can view your Xfinity Stream app from your smart TV, Firestick, Chromecast, or Roku device. Here is a helpful link for more information.

In the past couple of weeks I have also been unable to use on demand shows via the xfinity app, and it’s across the board, ABC, NBC, CBS - all of my saved programming I’ve been watching this way for years now say, “pay only, $2.99 per episode “ I’ve been watching my shows this way for years.
Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger I’m having the same problem I have no idea where these strange channels came from my stream will work on my phone but not iPad so frustrating like comment above I can do a search to locate channel i.e. nba tv, espn but unfortunately that’s the only way to access anything my FOR YOU is totally on the blink with no help in sight from xfinity…Heeellllppp
