    And I finally found a copy. I found it by looking at archive.org, the internet archive "wayback machine", and searching their archives of minecraft.net. Now in this JAR I found, examining it in 7zip, I found that no file has a modified year greater than 2009. This is the true original 0.30 classic MC JAR file. The JAR's file size is also smaller.

    When Classic ran on the website, looking at the HTML code showed that there was a param tag in the applet tag, that contained the server address and port.     You have to. As you can clearly see in the text above, this launcher still needs you to own the game. The launcher only changes the authentication of Mojang accounts to Microsoft accounts.
