My negotiated pre-incentive dealer price was $31,342 ($3,748 dealer discount). GM employee price for the exact same vehicle is $32,560 ($2,531 discount). So my self-negotiated deal was over $1,200 better than the employee discount. Employee discount is usually GOOD, but if you’re a grinder like most of us on this forum, you can get better.

Employee is the same as a supplier program but with a larger kickback and larger discount. It essentially takes any car to a $0 profit deal (or slightly profitable for high MSRP models). I generally take it on most of my product except the super hot stuff (Z71s, Trailboss, etc) but I’m genuinely curious why they wouldn’t take it on a Bolt.
The employee discount was usually available within 6 months to a year of startup for previous gens. GMS is still available for the rest of GM's lineup of vehicles with the exception of maybe the new GMC Hummer and a select few other high profile vehicles.
