EDIT: Using an Xbox 360 controller works flawlessly. Just not the XB One controller. EDIT 2: I have no idea why, but the controller is now working normal again. Asking the console to locate it through Kinect will activate the vibration sensor in the controller, and while that's not much it could be just enough noise and vibration to help you find your missing accessory.
