Astro’s Playroom is amazing, good difficulty level for kids that age and it still has some of the best use of the dual sense controller on the PS5. A Sackboy Adventure is good too, a little harder difficulty wise. Crash Team Racing Nitrofueled is PS4 but works on the PS5. Essentially Mario kart on PlayStation.
Seconded . In 1998 at 5 years old I played my first favorite video game, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. Didn't find out there was a Crash Bandicoot 1 until my babysitter revealed she also had a PlayStation. Great games for kids, but they can be rage inducing for kids who don't handle failing in games well.
Terraria is a good but difficult game. Overcooked 1/2, Sackboy, Moving Out, A Way Out, It Takes Two. For Rhythm games Taiko no Tatsujin or if fighting games Injustice 2 etc. Any of the Lego. The Skywalker saga is the latest and largest. Lego Star Wars, takes two, sackboy, overcooked, horizon dawn split screen, Rachit.
There is a game based on the Zorro cartoon out now that is really solid, especially your 7 year old might dig that. The new Turtles game is an old school arcade brawler you can all play through together. Thankfully lives don’t cost a quarter a piece. Ultimate Chicken Horse is the most popular party game in your house.

Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Luigi’s Mansion, Mario Party Superstars, Kirby’s Dream Buffet, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, TMNT Shredder’s Revenge (also available on PS5).

I have over 100 games on switch (mostly indies). All my kids fight over it (12,9,5). PS5 I have around 15 games and they are only single player games. Switch is great for playing local coop/party games. I guess it depends on the types of games and if you plan on playing with him. To me each console I own plays certain types of games better.
Minecraft has four player split screen. Overcooked 1 and 2 are also great but do require patience and communication. Minecraft is so good for new gamers. Not only is it flexible enough to meet everbodys playstyoes be they fighting, exploring, or being creative; but the game itself teaches yoy everything.
Hey guys, I started working in a youth centre in a bad neighborhood where kids up to 20 y/o can hang around yadda yadda. Got my hands on a PS5 and set it up in a hopefull soon to be gaming room this week, but I will need some childfriendly and (multiplayer)games mainly for under 16y/o (USK is a thing here in germany).
